This year’s theme for PNSQC is 2020 Vision: Quality Looking Forward. The theme was chosen to inspire attendees and speakers to think of ways to learn from the past, and envision ways to achieve quality software in the future.
In January, we kicked off the 2020 Call for Proposals with a symbolic torch lighting ceremony. Much like a lightning talk event, we had eight speakers with short presentations on their visions for improving the process of developing software. We got lots of positive feedback from attendees, who said they particularly liked the networking aspect of the kickoff and encouraged having additional events throughout the year.
Videos of the presentations are now available. They may spark an idea for your own proposal to share a vision of quality for the 2020 Conference in October.

Maximizing Flow with Mob Programming
Two fundamental forces in software development are Velocity and Quality. Matt shares his experience with the interplay of those forces.
Be Agile with Security
Why is it important to have security built into the development life cycle and how does it help you? Bhushan suggests, “Let’s start with ‘How things get hacked…'”
Communication Safety Checks
Sion proposes a mechanism for discovering each team member’s perspective that has some unexpected results.

Security as the new Non-Functional Requirement
Daniel finds that “agile teams don’t talk a lot about security…yet there are people in the company talking about security, who?” Operations — that’s where it’s at.
Vision About Complex Enterprise Projects
Keeping to the 2020 Vision theme, Ying Ki says that many Enterprise IT projects fall short due to a “vision” problem.
The Strong Survive
Only the strong survive, right? Maybe. Phil shares a story about that.
