At the end of 2009, our group was struggling with lots of test data and spreadsheets that could not capture the information. To grow our capabilities, before we chucked the spreadsheets, we installed and configured the open-source tool TestLink to help manage our data. So far, it has worked great even though we can’t use many of the automation capabilities because of the nature of our testing. It has however, enabled us to better organize our testing as well as consolidate to one repository. There are still some gaps in TestLink, but the active development and improvement lists show a promising growth.
This would be a case-study, with data from 1+ year of use.
