Organizations have adopted Agile, Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD practices widely in order to increase their adaptivity. While doing so, they learn that it is impossible to speed up the IT deliverance without trusting the quality. Lean and SAFe have Built-in Quality (BIQ) as a core principle, but what does that mean for teams and organizations? In this presentation, Derk-Jan will share patterns he encounters at various organizations. One of them is having little time to improve and automate testing. We will discuss how quality can be improved on a team level, but we’ll also investigate how quality is organized in scaled settings where teams need to collaborate on a single increment. In order to have quality Built-in, we need more than just good tests. Using BIQ maturity as a reference, we can define various feedback loops in our development lifecycle. I will explain how to create these feedback loops and embed quality at various levels in the organization. BIQ takes more than just doing extra tests in the team. When we map test practices on the feedback loops, we get insight into which measures will make the most impact. We have little time to improve, so let’s spend that time effectively.
