How do you get new ideas? And once you discover something new, how do you have time to remember it, look into it, or to use it later?
Alan Page is a co-founder of the Modern Testing movement and a past presenter at PNSQC. He considers himself a specializing generalist, and organizes around the assumption that he will have to learn about new things and adapt to new ideas.
As he has written: “Software testing has always been changing and evolving; but the changes, advancements, improvements, and shifts in the last few years feel much bigger to many of us. Depending on your context, these changes may be massive – or they may be trivial; but the path forward for software quality is clear, and relying on what many of us learned in the 1990s just isn’t going to help us anymore.”
Catch the replay of this PNSQC meetup as we talk with Alan about his methods for finding, assimilating and adapting to new ideas.
