This year, PNSQC is looking to expand the conversation around trends in the industry and hear more about what is on the minds of people in the quality industry. We’re changing the “Poster Paper” name to Concept Papers to better reflect trends, showing how rapid change and emerging technologies often brings up ideas that haven’t existed long enough to have been researched or thoroughly documented yet.
Submit your Concept Paper idea today!Ideas for poster/concept papers should be submitted to CMT (see author instructions for details). Submission deadline is Sept. 30, 2015.
Taking ideas directly to the testing community via Poster/Concept Paper presentations is a valuable way to get discussions started on new trends or build up thoughts for a future Technical Paper.
We asked Carol Brands, a software tester at Digital Inspections, and 2014 Poster/Concept Paper presenter, to describe the process and experience for us.
Q: Why did you decide to do a Concept Paper?
A: To be perfectly honest, I initially decided to write the paper for the discount to the conference! My company didn't have a history of sending testers to conferences at the time, so I knew I'd be paying out of pocket, but attending the conference was important to me.

Abstracts have been flowing in to the reviewers’ mail box this month; looks like it will be a good year for the sharing of ideas! To accommodate those who are either putting finishing touches on an abstract or are thinking about submitting one, we’ve extended the deadline through May 1st.
We recently asked 2014 PNSQC presenter Anna Royzman to tell us about what got her started in testing, why leadership is important for developing your career, and what advice she could give to other presenters. Royzman — a professional tester with over 15 years of experience, a context-driven scholar, and director of a NY-based global brokerage company’s functional testing group — also was recently a panelist for a PNSQC webinar on software quality trends.
