For PNSQC this year, our planning committee is prioritizing making our conference as inclusive as possible for marginalized communities in tech.
During the first quarter of the year, we sponsored meetups with PDX Vets in Tech, PDX Blacks in Tech, and LatinX Tech PDX. Because COVID-19 outbreaks concerns are still high, not all of these groups are continuing to meet in person, so we’ve expanded our partnership focus.
Diversity Scholarships
One of the new actions we’re taking is offering diversity scholarships, which will cover the cost of attending PNSQC this fall for people designated by our partner groups. $300 will cover scholarships for two people, plus two leaders from the partner groups. The sponsoring company will have their name announced at the conference and will be listed on our sponsor page.
This year PNSQC is partnering with Future Ada, PDX Blacks in Tech, Latinx Tech PDX, and Women Who Code.
We are now seeking community-driven companies, organizations, and individuals as sponsors to underwrite these diversity scholarships. With your generous help, two beneficiaries of each of these groups will be able to attend PNSQC for the first time.
This year’s conference is fully online, so there will be no additional costs to scholarship recipients.
