Three strengths of QA
We’re changing things up for the 2020 conference. There will be a new program schedule, new keynotes, and a new platform to virtually attend.
A Fresh Look
With such a great group of submissions for the Call for Proposals, PNSQC’s board is excited for the conference this year, with one big update: It will be a virtual conference!
The dates are still October 12-14, 2020, and the formatting will also remain the same, with two days of technical presentations followed by a day of workshops.
The conference’s final schedule and activities will be announced when registration opens in mid-July.
A Spotlight on Keynote Speakers
PNSQC’s Program Committee is excited to announce our 2020 Keynotes!
Here is the sneak peak at who will be anchoring each day of the conference, and what their presentation’s focus will be:
- “Rethinking Test Automation” with Paul Gerrard, an internationally renowned, award-winning software engineering consultant, author, mentor, webmaster, programmer, tester, conference speaker, rowing coach and publisher. He has conducted consulting assignments in all aspects of software testing and QA, specialising in test strategy and assurance.
- “The Coming Tester Apocalypse: You must UN-LEARN what you have LEARNED!” with Dawn Haynes, the CEO, Principal Trainer and Testing Coach for PerfTestPlus. Dawn is also a former Director and Secretary of the Association for Software Testing, and a founding member of the International Society for Software Testing.
- “Breaking Down Biases and Building Inclusive AI” with Raj Subrameyer, a technology career coach, author, and speaker with a background in UI automation engineering, who specializes in empowering people to advance in their occupations.
- “Test Engineers are the Connectors of Our Teams” with Jenny Bramble, a Senior Software Test Engineer at WillowTree, knowledgeable mushroom hunter, talented back-bending enthusiast, and one of the most lauded PNSQC presenters two years running.
Gathering Perspective
The 2020 Call for Proposals brought in a wealth of submissions for this year’s conference. Despite an ongoing pandemic, quarantine, and economic stress, everyone really stepped up to share your tips, tricks, and techniques for improving software quality. We’d like to thank our community for that level of engagement.
The proposal topics spanned from the traditional categories of Tools, Automation, People, and Processes, to more topical and timely subjects of COVID-19 and diversity in tech. The Program Committee also received papers on AI, Agile testing, and cutting-edge QA.
PNSQC’s Program Committee chose 25 papers to be presented at the 2020 conference. Authors will be presenting alongside the keynote presentations for Monday and Tuesday of the conference.
