Glen Andresen, Bridgetown Bees
Like Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and Michelangelo’s David, honey straight from the hive is about as perfect as can be and needs no “improvement.” Honey in the comb lasts thousands of years without preservatives, is loaded with trace minerals, and is delicious as is. So why do we mess with it?
This presentation will focus on the making of honey, from flower to bottle (and points in between), and the difference between local unprocessed honey and its national counterpart: the blended, imported, or processed honey commonly sold in chain grocery stores.
