What is a PNSQC Poster Paper?

A topic that you bring to life in a compact visual format that encourages informal discussion, debate, and exchange of ideas in a relaxed atmosphere of peer engagement and review. Keep in mind that while others are networking among their peers, you are networking your topic and ideas with a very focused and interested audience! Come ready to talk to your topic and spread the joy of what you are excited about.

• The format can include hand-drawn or digitally created content displayed in a manner easy to share and discuss with others. Think science fair with a road to quality twist!
• The focus this year will be on non-digital enhanced presentations. Poster Paper is expected to be poster boards that can be set on our provided easels or are large-format papers that can be taped to a wall.
• Please bring a small table (e.g. TV tray) if you need something to put materials on. If you need chairs, please let us know.

Why Present a Poster Paper at PNSQC

The PNSQC Program Committee encourages engagement and discussion for new ideas, techniques, and tools; anything that will spur creativity around improving software quality through Poster Papers.

• Allows you to share and discuss the summary of a technical paper, brainstorm an idea that needs more input with colleagues, or conduct a crowd-sourced feedback/ problem-solving session for an area of immediate need or interest.
• This is your opportunity to field test your ideas, share early Technical Paper concepts, and show your passion for the topic.
• While discussing your ideas, you may even have some fun! Check out this blog where a previous Poster Paper author shares her experience.

How Do I Create a Poster Paper

Three simple steps to think through Registration, Creation, and Time Commitment.

• Step 1 – Please register for the conference as a Poster Paper author. The cost is $375 ($50 for students) for the 2-day conference. Note that this is less than half the regular price of attending the conference.Please register here (Registration Coming Soon) to reserve a limited spot at the conference. We will accept all entries on a first come first serve basis.
• Step 2 – Create your Poster Paper content and presentation using either the Portrait or Landscape standard for PNSQC poster papers. Also, consider creating a 1-2 page handout to give away. This might encourage listeners to keep thinking about your ideas after the conference is over.
  
  Download our templates in portrait or landscape format.
• Step 3 – Spend time on your paper and your presentation that reflects the value you want to offer your audience and get out of the experience for yourself. The more prepared you are the more value will come from the event. Tip: We suggest anywhere from 20-40 hours depending on how much preparation you have already done to think through sharing your topic.
