Simon Howlett is a Senior Product Development Manager in Test Engineering at Workiva. Focusing on providing Test Frameworks and Solutions with an emphasis on reliability combined with ease of use/support. Simon currently manages a team of engineers based mostly in Ames Iowa, though he himself resides in Portland, Oregon.

In addition to the bio on your paper, is there anything else you'd like PNSQC attendees to know about you?

I live in Portland, I’m from Preston in North West England originally.

Why did you choose to present your paper at PNSQC?

I am local to Portland, the agenda from previous years suggests topics I will be interested in and like to contribute to.

Is there anything PNSQC attendees should know about your topic before attending your presentation?

It is borne of a challenge we faced/face in our organization, being successful at one thing and trying to scale to a more micro service based architecture, allowing teams to own all of their own process, but within one large eco-system.

What do you think is the next big trend, topic or challenge for software quality?

Testing using production metrics/production data, micro-services testing and deployment and transitioning from testers to SDET’s in many organizations.
