Jon Hagar, Grand Software Testing, LLC
Internet of Things (IoT) has been one of the hyped growth areas of high tech over the last few years. The scope and size of some IoT test architectures and associated support environments imposes problems for testers. In fact, many IoT devices are only tested in isolation and not assessed within a larger system architecture environment. This presentation defines IoT cyber-physical systems, the associated challenges/risks, and implications for system testing. After providing definitions and context, Jon presents examples of using existing large-scale non-IoT test architectures and environments. Finally, Jon considers possible solutions for IoT cyber-physical test architectures and environments with implications toward the future of IoT testing.
