Have your retrospectives plateaued? Are you struggling to get your improvement recommendations implemented? Do your process changes run aground when they meet with unforeseen conditions? Then this workshop is for you!
In the face of unpredictable business conditions, ever changing customer needs, and rapidly evolving technologies, sustainable advantage comes from your organization’s ability to adapt and continuously improve.
The Improvement Kata addresses the inherent uncertainties of process change by providing an agile method for planning and executing large-scale improvements, systematically breaking changes down into smaller pieces and treating each of those pieces as an experiment rather than a fixed plan.
Workshop participants will spend the day learning how to apply the Improvement Kata, a Lean process improvement method akin to Agile. First we’ll explore how small batches and the scientific method make it possible to handle the inherent uncertainties of process change. Then we’ll look at how the structure of the Improvement Kata coordinates planning and change across multiple levels of an organization, enabling changes which affect multiple teams and departments.
