Acceptance test-driven development (ATDD) helps communication between customers, developers and testers. ATDD has proven to dramatically increase productivity and reduce delays in work flow by decreasing re-work. This workshop introduces acceptance testing; explains why it works; and outlines the different roles the team members play in the process. Through interactive exercises, we’ll show how acceptance tests created during requirements analysis decrease ambiguity, increase scenario coverage, help with effort estimation, and act as a measurement of quality.
When the workshop is completed, the attendees will be able to:
- Use acceptance tests to create tighter cross-functional team integration
- Inject ATDD into their software process to reduce rework
- Breakdown requirements into smaller pieces using acceptance tests
- Use acceptance tests to measure scope, progress, and quality
- Examine acceptance tests to discover scenarios
