Dr. Nishi is an assistant professor at the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo. Regarded as a visionary leader on software testing in Japan, he researches and consults for industries, e.g. automotive OEM/suppliers, industrial automation, medical devices, finance and development tools, on software testing, quality, safety, process improvement, and TQM for 20+ years. He supports Test Design Contest Japan as judgement panel chair for 9 years in Japan, Malaysia and Korea.
He is currently the President of the Association of Software Test Engineering (ASTER), the industry-wide organization for software testing technology in Japan. He is also a founder of the biggest conference on software testing in Japan and Japanese member board of ISTQB. Dr. Nishi serves IEEE International Workshop on Software Test Architecture (InSTA) as general co-chair and works as an expert of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7/WG26, an international standardization group on software testing. He is struglling to harmonize modern agile testing with quality assurance in the mission-critical domain.
